Front Section
On the front section of your trailer, remove each plastic end cap located under
each hinge bracket on the right and left side. These end caps can be pried out
with a flat blade screwdriver. These end caps will not be reused.
Locate the front section Foot Steps. There is a right side and left side step.
Each side step goes on over the axle so that the “kick-up” is to the front of the
trailer and the center section that resembles the letter “C” faces away from the
trailer on each side. Each step is mounted using the supplied Step Clamp (one
for each side, they are the same).
Insert each step into the front section of your trailer into the open tubing under
the hinge where you previously removed the plastic end caps. Install step
clamp (one on each side). Firmly tighten all clamp hardware.
Unscrew the support bolt on each step until it firmly makes contact with the
main axle (this supports the foot step). Tighten the jam nut to secure the
support bolt.
Refer to the diagram on the next page for an illustration of an installed side foot
step.
Never use any part of the side Steps to attach a tie down. The side
Steps are not designed to support any upward pull of a tie down. Use
the Tie Down hoop loop located on the main axle.
