Tools Required: Materials Supplied:
One 5 mm (3/16”) Allen Wrench Back and Loop
One 4 mm (5/32”) Allen Wrench Crotch Strap
Phillips Head Screwdriver
1. Remove the crotch strap (secured to the underside of the seat) using
a Phillips Head screwdriver to remove the screw. Discard the strap and
screw.
2. Remove the old back and loop by inserting a 5 mm Allen wrench into one
of the joint connector nuts that secure it to the inside of the chair. Hold the
5 mm Allen wrench still while you use a 4 mm Allen wrench to unscrew the
corresponding joint connector bolt on the outside of the chair.
3. Repeat step 2 for the three remaining joint connector nuts and bolts.
Discard the old back and loop and hardware.
4. Take the new back and loop and insert it into the space where the old
one located. Align the holes in the sides of the back and loop with the holes
in the sides of the chair.
5. Take one of the 35 mm joint connector bolts and insert it into one of the
rear holes on the inside of the back and loop. It will go through the side of
the back and loop and into the side of the chair.
6. Insert one of the joint connector nuts in the corresponding hole on the
outside of the chair. Use the 5 mm Allen wrench to hold the joint connector
nut still while you screw in the joint connector bolt using the 4 mm Allen
wrench.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for the front hole, but use a 25 mm joint connector
bolt instead of a 35 mm.
8. Repeat steps 5, 6 and 7 for the opposite side of the back and loop.
9. Attach the new crotch strap. Drape the strap over the loop, so that you
have an equal amount of strap on both sides of the loop. Pull the strap taut
and secure it back into the underside of the seat with the modified truss
head screw, using a Phillips Head screwdriver.
10. Ensure the back and loop is secure and clean the chair.
