Locking and unlocking
Factory setting Global unlocking
̈ Grasp an outside door handle.
ț All turn signal lamps flash once.
ț An acoustic warning sounds once.
ț The locking knobs in the doors
move up.
ț The anti-theft alarm system is
disarmed.
The vehicle will lock again automatically
and rearm the alarm system within approx-
imately 40 seconds of unlocking if neither
a door nor the trunk is opened.
Global locking
̈ Press lock button on an outside door
handle (
୴ page 66).
With the trunk and both doors closed:
ț All turn signal lamps flash three
times.
ț An acoustic warning sounds three
times.
ț The locking knobs in the doors
move down.
ț The anti-theft alarm system is
armed.
i When unlocking or locking the vehicle with
KEYLESS-GO, an acoustic signal sounds. The sig-
nal is activated at the factory. If you wish to de-
activate the feature or adjust its signal volume,
contact an authorized Mercedes-Benz Center.
i The vehicle could inadvertently unlock if the
SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO is within 3 ft (1 m)
of the vehicle and
ț an outside door handle is splashed with
water
or
ț you attempt to clean an outside door handle
i Vehicles with trunk opening/closing
system*: You can also lock the vehicle using the
the KEYLESS-GO locking/closing switch
