Chapter 5. Clearing Paper Jams

This chapter describes how to clear paper jams that may occur during use.
CAUTION
Handle paper carefully when you remove jammed paper. Otherwise, you may suffer an unexpected injury, such as
cutting your hand on the edge of the paper.

Remove the documents on the document eject tray.

Close the document eject tray extension if it is open.
If the document eject guide is installed, there is no need to
remove it and close the document eject tray extension.
Proceed to the next step.

Raise the top of the document feeder until it locks in the
open position.
