Revised Cleaning/Disinfecting Chart

Dear Valued Customer:

It has come to our attention that some veterinary users are cleaning the Schering-Plough
Auriflush system and irrigating ears with solutions other than the ones listed in the users
manual. To address the needs of the customer by ensuring optimal reliability of Auriflush,
we have since tested the compatibility of the system against several cleaning agents. The
lists of approved chemicals below can be used as substitutes provided the cleaning proce-
dure in the manual is followed, the manufacturers recommended soak times and concen-
trations are followed. Use of the non-approved chemicals may damage the unit and will
void the product warranty.

Auriflush Cleaning and Disinfecting Chemicals*

* Caution - Eliminate any adverse effects of cleaning on the Auriflush unit by placing only
the face of the handle into the cleaning chemical (refer to diagram), use only specified con-
centration levels, limit the cleaning time to 2 min. and water rinse or soak the external por-
tions of handle once cleaning is complete.

This information supersedes the “Ear Cleaning” and “Cleaning and Disinfecting” sections
of the users manual.

Welch Allyn appreciates your continued support.

Sincerely,

Welch Allyn, Inc.
