Sehr geehrter Kunde,
wir freuen uns, daß sie sich entschlossen haben, ein
Präzisionsblutdruckmeßgerät der Firma Welch Allyn zu
erwerben.
Das Quecksilber-Blutdruckmeßgerät MINIATUR 300 B ist in
einem formschönen handlichen Duraluminium-Etui mit
Klappdeckel untergebracht. Durch Drücken auf den
Verschlußknopf springt der Deckel des Gerätes auf. In
senkrechter, aufgeklappter Stellung ist der Deckel durch eine
Spezialfeder arretiert. Die Meßsäule befindet sich an der
Innenseite des Deckels. An ihrer Unterseite befindet sich der
Quecksilberbehälter mit dem Absperrhahn. Im Etui befindet
sich weiterhin die Manschette. Sie ist mit einem 2-Schlauch-
Gummibeutel ausgerüstet, wobei der eine Schlauch mit einem
Kopplungsstück an die Meßsäule angeschlossen wird. Am
Ende des zweiten Schlauches befindet sich der Pumpenball
mit angebautem Ablaßventil.
Inbetriebnahme:
Nach Öffnen des Deckels wird der Quecksilber- Absperrhahn,
der sich an der linken Seite des Quecksilberbehälters
befindet, geöffnet. Danach muß das Quecksilber bis zum 0-
Strich in die Glasröhre einströmen. Nach Überprüfung der
Luftanschlüsse für die Manschette und den Gebläseball ist
das Gerät betriebsbereit. Das im Steigrohr befindliche
Quecksilber kann wieder eingeschlossen werden, indem das
Gerät nach rechts gelegt wird. Das Quecksilber fließt in den
Behälter zurück - der Absperrhahn wird wieder geschlossen.
Warnhinweis
Achten Sie darauf, daß auf keinen Fall Quecksilber aus dem
Gerät austritt. Quecksilber ist ein hochgiftiges Element. Sollte
bei Bruch einer Glasröhre oder durch einen anderen Umstand
Quecksilber aus dem Gerät austreten, ist darauf zu achten,
daß auch die kleinsten Quecksilberreste entfernt werden.
Achtung: Ausgeflossenes Quecksilber ist gefährlich! Sollten
Sie ein defektes Gerät, bei dem Quecksilber ausgetreten ist,
zur Reparatur geben, dann achten Sie darauf, daß das Gerät
in eine Plastiktüte gelegt wird. Diese ist sorgfältig zu
verschließen, damit kein Quecksilber ins Freie kommt.
Bedenken Sie, daß Sie dafür haftbar gemacht werden können,
wenn Gefährdungen auftreten!
Anlegen der Manschette
Nach Wahl der geeigneten Manschettengröße wird die
Armmanschette - in der Regel am linken Oberarm - angelegt.
Der Armumfangsbereich ist auf der Manschette angegeben (
s. a. Tabelle). Die Manschette soll an den Weichteilen straff
anliegen, sie soll jedoch in unaufgeblasenem Zustand keinen
Druck auf die Arterie ausüben. Die Manschette sollte in etwa
in der Mitte des Oberarms angelegt sein und zwar so, daß der
Schlauch abwärts (distal) schaut und etwa an der Innenseite
des Bizeps liegt. Der Arm soll beim Anlegen und während der
Messung im Ellenbogengelenk nahezu gestreckt, die
Muskulatur völlig erschlafft sein.
Durchführung der Messung
Nach dem Anlegen der Manschette wird bei geschlossenem
Ventil Luft in das gesamte System gepumpt. Nach dem
Aufpumpen der Manschette muß sich der Patient völlig ruhig
verhalten und es muß vermieden werden, dass von aussen
auf die angelegte Manschette gedrückt wird, da dies die
Messung beeinträchtigt. Durch einen leichten Druck mit dem
Zeigefinger auf das feindosierbare rote Drückerventil wird die
Luft aus der Manschette abgelassen. Die
Ablaßgeschwindigkeit läßt sich mit dem Drückerventil sehr
fein regulieren. Auf den ersten Millimetern des Drückerweges
weicht die Luft genau dosiert mit 2-3 mmHg/Sek. aus der
Manschette. Je tiefer Sie das Ventil eindrücken, desto
schneller entweicht die Luft. Die Hand bleibt zum Halten des
Stethoskopes zur Auskultation von Systole und Diastole frei.
Nach dem Erkennen der oberen und unteren Blutdruckwerte
drücken Sie das Ventil ganz durch bis der Drücker einrastet
und in dieser Stellung “offen” stehen bleibt. Dadurch ist
gewährleistet, daß beim erneuten Anlegen der Manschette
die Luft restlos entwichen ist. Durch einen leichten Druck auf
den oberen Teil des Drückers springt das Ventil zurück und ist
geschlossen. Damit kann die nächste Messung beginnen.
Die Genauigkeit eines Quecksilber-Blutdruckmeßgerätes
hängt vom Zustand des Quecksilbers, vom
Verschmutzungsgrad der Glasröhre und von der
Durchlässigkeit der Filter ab. Ein Queck-silberfilter befindet
sich in der Rändelmutter am oberen Teil des Manometers und
unter dem Schlauchanschluß am Quecksilberbehälter. Diese
beiden Filter verhindern, daß das Quecksilber aus dem Gerät
ins Freie strömen kann. Es sind Spezialfilter, die nur für Luft
durchlässig sind, Quecksilber aber zurückhalten. Durch den
Umwelt-schmutz, der sich in der Luft befindet, setzen sich
diese Filter mit der Zeit zu, so daß die Luft nicht mehr
ungehindert zirkulieren kann. Diese Tatsache bewirkt, daß
sich beim Ablassen der Luft im Quecksilberbehälter ein
Überdruck und in der Glasröhre ein Unterdruck bildet, der ein
ungestörtes Absinken der Quecksilbersäule verhindert und
damit zu erheblichen Ungenauigkeiten des Manometers
führen kann. Deshalb muß die Absinkgeschwindigkeit der
Quecksilbersäule laufend überwacht werden. Wenn Sie eine
Verlangsamung der Absinkgeschwindigkeit feststellen,
müssen die Filter gewechselt werden. Deshalb empfehlen wir,
das Gerät alle 2 Jahre zur Reinigung und Überprüfung der
Meßgenauigkeit an Welch Allyn zu geben.

Pflegehinweise
Wiederverwendbare Manschetten der Firma Welch Allyn sind
in der Waschmaschine bei 60°C waschbar, dürfen aber nicht
geschleudert werden. Das Blutdruckmeßgerät kann mit den
herkömmlichen Mitteln wisch--desinfiziert werden.
Hinweis für deutsche Benutzer
Laut Medizinproduktebetreiber-Verordnung MPBetreibV ist
der Betreiber verpflichtet, Geräte mit einer Messfunktion
einer messtechnischen Kontrolle bei einer geeigneten Stelle
zu unterziehen (für Blutdruckmessgeräte alle 2 Jahre).
Kalibrierung
Sollte das Manometer die Genauigkeit von ± 3 mmHg nicht
einhalten, wird Welch Allyn das Manometer innerhalb von 1
Jahr ab Kaufdatum kostenlos nachjustieren.

Auf Manschetten , Gummibeutel und Schläuche gewähren wir
1 Jahr Garantie bei Material- oder Verarbeitungs-fehlern.

Herstellerspezifikationen abweichen, wird Welch Allyn das
Gerät oder Teile davon kostenlos reparieren oder ersetzen.
Diese Garantie gilt nicht bei Schäden, die durch
unsachgemässe Behandlung, falschen Gebrauch, Unfälle,
Änderungen oder während des Transports entstehen. Der
Garantieanspruch erlischt, wenn das Gerät nicht
entsprechend den Herstellerempfehlungen benutzt oder von
nicht autorisierten Personen geöffnet wird.

ci rallegriamo per la sua scelta di acquistare uno
sfigmomanometro di precisione della ditta Welch Allyn.
I sfigmomanometro a mercurio MINIATUR 300 B è inserito in
un astuccio in duralluminio pratico e maneggevole con
coperchio a cerniera. Premendo il pulsante della chiusura si
apre il coperchio dell'apparecchio. Quando è in posizione
verticale aperta il coperchio viene bloccato da una molla.
La colonna di misura si trova sul lato interno del coperchio.
Sul lato inferiore si trova il contenitore del mercurio con il
rubinetto. L'astuccio contiene inoltre il bracciale gommato
con 2 tubi, uno dei quali viene collegato alla colonnina di
misurazione mediante un opportuno giunto. Al termine del
secondo tubo si trova la pompetta a sfera con la valvola di
scarico incorporata.
Modo d'uso
Una volta aperto il coperchio viene aperta anche la valvola del
mercurio disposta a sinistra del contenitore di mercurio.
Quindi il mercurio deve fluire fino alla linea zero del tubo di
vetro. Dopo il controllo dei collegamenti dell'aria per bracciale
e pompetta lo strumento è pronto per l'uso. Appoggiando lo
strumento sul lato destro il mercurio presente nel tubo di vetro
può venir di nuovo rinchiuso. Il mercurio ritorna nel suo
contenitore e la valvola viene richiusa.
Avvertenza
Far assolutamente attenzione che per nessun motivo esca
mercurio dallo strumento. Il mercurio è un elemento
estremamente velenoso. Qualora a causa di una rottura del
tubo di vetro o per qualsiasi altro motivo dovesse uscire del
mercurio dallo strumento, accertarsi che esso venga
eliminato fino nei minimi resti.
Attenzione: il mercurio fuoriuscito è pericoloso! Quando si fa
riparare uno strumento difettoso dal quale è uscito del
mercurio abbiate cura di riporlo in un sacchetto di plastica
ben chiuso in modo che non fuoriesca mercurio. Considerate
che potete essere resi responsabili di eventuali pericoli!
Applicazione del bracciale
Dopo aver scelto il bracciale si avvolge all’avambraccio
sinistro. Le circonferenze possibli del braccio sono indicate
sul bracciale (vedi tabella sotto). II bracciale deve essere teso
però quando è sgonfio non deve esercitare alcuna pressione
sull'arteria. Mettere il bracciale circa a metà della parte
superiore del braccio in modo che il tubo flessibile sia rivolto
verso il basso (distale) e appoggiare circa alla parte interna
del bicipite. Indossando il bracciale e durante la misurazione il
braccio deve stare con il gomito quasi diritto e con la
muscolatura completamente rilassata.
Misurazione
Dopo aver pompato il bracciale il paziente si deve mantenere
completamente calmo; non esercitare alcuna pressione
dall'esterno sul bracciale indossato, per evitare degli aumenti
di pressione dannosi. Premendo leggermente con l’indice
sulla valvola a pressione rossa a regolazione fine, l’aria esce
dal bracciale. Grazie a questa valvola la velocità di scarico
dell’aria si può regolare esattamente. Sui primi millimetri dell
svitamento della vita, l’aria fuoriesce dal bracciale
esattamente dosata, con 2-3 mmHg per secondo. Più si preme
il grilletto, più velocemente esce l’aria. L’apparecchio lascia
una mano libera per lo stetoscopio per l’auscultazione della
pressione sistolica e diastolica. Dopo aver riconosciuto i
valori massimi e minimi di pressione tirare la valvola rossa
verso il basso fino allo scatto. Ora la valvola è aperta
continuamente e l’aria può uscire completamente dal
bracciale. Per chiudere la valvola, premere brevemente sulla
parte posteriore della valvola per farla ritornare
automaticamente nella sua posizione. Ora l’apparecchio è
pronto per la prossima misurazione.
La precisione di uno sfigmomanometro a mercurio dipende
dallo stato del mercurio, dal grado di sporco del tubo di vetro e
dalla permeabilità del filtro. Un filtro del mercurio si trova nel
dado zigrinato sulla parte superiore del manometro, l'atro
sosto al raccordo del tubicino sul contenitore del mercurio.
Questi due filtri impediscono al mercurio di fuoriuscire dallo
strumento. Sono filtri speciali che fanno passare solo l'aria
trattengono però il mercurio. A causa dell'inquinamento
dell'aria col tempo questi filtri si otturano e l'aria non ha più
modo di circolare liberamente. Quando si fa uscire l'aria
questi filtri otturati provocano una sovrappressione nel
contenitore del mercurio e una depressione nel tubo di vetro,
ciò impedisce al mercurio di scendere inostacolato, di
conseguenza possono verificarsi imprecisioni elevate del
manometro. Perciò la velocità di discesa del mercurio deve
essere sempre sorvegliata. Quando si nota un rallentamento
della discesa i filtri devono essere sostituiti. Consigliamo di
consegnare ogni 2 anni lo strumento alla Welch Allyn per far
eseguire la pulizia e il controllo della precisione di
misurazione.

Istruzioni per la cura
I bracciali riutilizzabili della ditta Welch Allyn si lavano in
lavatrice a 60°C, non si possono però centrifugare. Dopo l'uso
lo sfigmomanometro può essere disinfettato con un panno e
prodotti comuni.
Nota importante:
Normalmente gli sfigmomanometri devono essere controllati
ogni due anni. In tal caso vogliate portare I'apparecchio a
Welch Allyn presso il punto vendita.
Calibrazione
Qualora il manometro, entro l'anno di garanzia a partire dalla
data di acquisto, non mantenesse la precisione di ± 3mmHg, la
Welch Allyn effettuerà la taratura gratuitamente

Dear customer,
we are delighted that you have decided to pruchase a
precision blood pressure meter from Welch Allyn.
The MINIATUR 300 B mercury blood pressure unit comes in an
elegant Duralumin case with a spring cover. The cover of the
unit is popped open by pressing the lock button. The cover is
vertically held in place in the open position by a special spring.
The graduated tube is located on the inside of the cover. On its
underside is the mercury container with the shut-off valve.
The case also contains the cuff. The cuff is equipped with a
dual-tube rubber bag, with one of the tubes being connected
to the graduated tube via a connecting piece. The bulb with its
built-in release valve is connected to the end of the second
tube.
Operation
After opening the cover, the mercury shut-off valve, which is
located on the left side of the mercury container, is opened.
The mercury must then flow in up to the zero line. After the air
connections for the cuff and bulb have been checked, the unit
is ready for operation. The mercury located in the ascending
tube can be again enclosed by inclining the device to the right.
The mercury flows back into the container, and the shut off
valve is again closed.
Warnings
Make sure that the mercury does not escape from the unit
under any circumstances. Mercury is a highly poisonous
element. If mercury should escape from the unit due to
breakage of a glass tube or for any other reason, make sure
that the smallest pieces of mercury residue are removed.
Warning: Mercury which has escaped from the unit is
hazardous! Should you bring in a defective unit from which the
mercury has escaped for repair, be sure that the unit is placed
in a plastic bag. This bag should be carefully sealed so that
the mercury does not escape. Remember that you can be held
liable for any resulting hazards!
Fitting the cuff
After choosing the appropriate cuff size, the arm cuff is put in
position, usually on the left upper arm.The arm circumference
range is indicated on the cuff (also see table). The cuff should
be tightly placed against the soft parts of the arm, but should
not exert any pressure on the artery when deflated. The cuff
should be placed approximately in the middle of the upper
arm, in such a way that the tube points downward (in a distal
direction) and is about in the middle of the bicep. The arm
should be almost fully extended at the elbow and the muscles
should be completely relaxed when the cuff is being put in
place and during measurement.
Measurement
After putting the cuff in place, air is pumped into the entire
system with the valve closed. After pumping up the cuff, the
patient must remain completely motionless and one should
avoid pressing on the cuff, as this affects the measurement.
By lightly pressing on the finely adjustable red pushbutton
valve with the index finger, the air can be released from the
cuff.The speed of this release can be very finely adjusted
using the pushbutton valve. As the pushbutton is initially
pressed in a few mm, the air is released from the cuff at a rate
of 2-3 mmHg/second. The farther you press the valve in, the
more rapidly the air escapes. The other hand is left free for
holding the stethoscope to auscultate systolic and diastolic
pressure. After the upper and lower blood pressure values
have been noted, press the valve all the way in until the
pushbutton snaps into place and remains open in this position.
This guarantees that when the cuff is again put in position, all
of the air will have escaped. By lightly pressing on the upper
part of the pushbutton, the valve can be snapped back into
place and closed. The next measurement can now begin.
The precision of a mercury blood pressure instrument
depends on the condition of the mercury, the degree of soiling
of the glass tube and the permeability of the filter. Mercury
fitters are located in the knurled screw in the upper portion of
the manometer and under the tube connection on the mercury
container. These two filters prevent the mercury from flowing
out of the unit. They are special filters which are permeable to
air, but retain mercury. Due to environmental pollutants in the
air, these filters will gradually close up over time so that the air
can no longer freely pass through. For this reason, releasing
the air results in high pressure in the mercury container and
low pressure in the glass tube, which prevents the mercury
column from descending freely and may result in highly
inaccurate manometer measurement. The rate of descent of
the mercury must therefore be continually monitored. If you
notice that this rate of descent has decreased, the filter must
be changed. For this reason, we recommend that the unit be
brought in every two years to Welch Allyn for cleaning and
checking of measurement accuracy.

to their wishes. Welch Allyn cuffs offer optimum measurement
reliability and user-friendliness.
Our One-Piece-Cuffs apply to the AAMI standards for suitable
fitting.
Care instructions
Reusable Welch Allyn cuffs can be washed in a washing
machine at 60°C, but must not be spin-dried. The blood
pressure meter can be disinfected by wiping clean with
conventional agents.
Important note: As a rule, blood pressure meters should be
technically checked every 2 years. In such cases, return your
unit to Welch Allyn or to your dealer.
Calibration
Should the manometer fail to be accurate to ± 3 mmHg. Welch
Allyn will reset the manometer free of charge within a period
of I year from the purchase date.
Accessories
we provide a I year guarantee against defects in materials or
workmanship defects for cuffs, rubber bags, and tubes.
We reserve the right to make technical and color
modifications.
Warranty
We provide against defect in materials and workmanship for
your Welch Allyn manometer movement the following
guarantee:
• Miniatur 300 B: 1 year guarantee.
Should the manometer be defective or deviate from the
