Connecting Through A Print Server

Using a print server, you can control print jobs (for example, change
printing order, cancel jobs, etc.) centrally.

When multiple jobs compete, they print in the order in which the jobs are
entered.

The print monitor for the network adapter needs to be installed only on
the printer server. It is not necessary to install it on each of the clients.

You can install the printer from the server unless you are using a
Windows 95/98/Me server and a Windows NT 4.0/2000 client.

Protocols

The network print monitor uses NetBEUI to communicate with the
printer.

Using NetPilot To Configure Your Network Adapter

1.

Install NetPilot and the Print Monitor.

2.

Start NetPilot.

3.

Select the network adapter from the displayed list.

4.

Enter the network adapter settings.

Installing the Network Print Monitor

1.

Connect the network adapter to the network.

2.

Install the network print monitor. The installation automatically uses
an available port. For more information, see the network adapter
manual.

When the optional network adapter is connected to your printer, the
NetSpot utility can be used. The NetSpot utility provides easy network
management of your printers by allowing you to set up the printers and
display their printer status and features.
