Age Ranges

To change patient modes between patients:

 press the Mode

button.

Battery Info

- Uses 3 AA batteries

- Batteries last approximately 5000 readings (692 model) and 6000 readings

(690 model)

- Storing at high heats can reduce battery life
- The onscreen battery indicator lets you know approximate battery life

remaining.

Cleaning

Device and Probe: Wipe device regularly with cloth dampened with warm
water and mild detergent. As needed, clean thermometer and probe with a

70% isopropyl alcohol or 10% chlorine bleach solution. You can also use a

non-staining disinfectant such as CaviCide® or its equivalent.


Removable Probe well: Remove the probe well from the unit and clean the

inner or outer surface by swabbing the surface with a cloth dampened with a

mild detergent, 70% isopropyl alcohol, 10% chlorine bleach OR non-staining

disinfectant such as CaviCide® or its equivalent. Can be immersed in
detergent if necessary; ensure it is completely dry before replacing in device.

Defaults

To change device defaults from °F to °C, or to change the Power-up Mode

(Oral, Adult Axillary, Ped Axillary), enact Security features, or enter a Site/Unit
ID, enter the Biotech Mode.

To enter Biotech Mode:

1. Insert device into wall holder (model 692 only)

2. Press and hold the RECALL button while removing the probe from

the well. Release the RECALL button once the probe is removed.

3. Press and Release the RECALL button to move sequentially through

the various program categories.

4. Changes within each category can be made by pressing the MODE

or C/F buttons.

5. Place the probe back in the well to save changes. Verify that

changes were successfully applied.
