While the C/Dock Expansion Station is still

npside-down, remove the fonr screws holding
the top case and bottom case together (see
Fignre 1-8).

Small arrows on the bottom case point to the proper
screws. Set aside the screws for use later in this

procedure.

9. Hold the top case and bottom case together with

yonr hand, and tnrn the C/Dock Expansion Sta­

tion right-side np and place it on a flat snrface.

10. Lift the top case np and away from the bottom

case (see Fignre 1-8).

Set aside the top case for use later in this procedure.

11. If necessary, remove the screws that anchor the

metal shield over the PCI expansion-card
assembly.

Set aside the screws for use later in this procedure.

12. Gently lift np the metal shield over the PCI

expansion-card assembly (Fignre 1-9). Take care

not to bend the small metal tabs on the shield.

13. Remove the screw on the monnting bracket

(see Fignre 1-9).

Set aside the screw for use later in this procedure.

14. Remove the empty monnting bracket. If a PCI

card is installed, remove it.

To remove the card, grasp the card by its outside cor­

ners, and ease it out of its connector.

15. Install a PCI expansion card.

Insert the card-edge connector of the card firmly into

the expansion-card connector (see Figure 1-9). Gen­
tly rock the card side-to-side into the connector until

it is fully seated.

Replace and tighten the screw on the mounting

bracket of the card.

16. Gently lower the metal shield. If yon removed

screws from the shield in step 11, replace them.

17. Reassemble the top and bottom assemblies.

Use the screws you removed in step 8. Start by
replacing the two screws next to the I/O panel.

18. Pnll the eject lever several times to make snre it

works properly.
