The rays in front of the aircraft icon indicate that
TRFC data is being received.
The light blue background indicates data that is currently
displayed on the screen. The gray background indicates
data that is not currently being displayed.
On the VDL, the zigzag rays beside the tower icon
indicate that FIS data is being received. On the
XM, bars next to the antenna icon indicate that FIS
data is being received. The number of bars indicate
the signal strength from one to three bars (weak
to good).
The Stormscope, Traffic
and FIS METAR overlays
may be removed from the
MAP by selecting MENU,
MAP SETUP and OVLY
SETUP; then using the
Joystick to select the field
and the Rotary Knob to
change the setting.
