Shooting Suited to Scenes (Scene Mode)

n Black and white copy

Provides clear images of text or drawings on a white board or
in print.
The camera focuses on subject at the center of the frame.

The area focused can be changed by the touch shutter
(

A 47) or touch AF/AE (A 52).

Use macro mode (

A 39) to focus at short ranges.

Colored text and drawings may not show up well.
The default setting for flash mode is

c Off.

A Draw

Write a memo, or draw a picture, on the touch panel display and save it as an image.
See “Using the Draw Option” (

A 72) for more information.

o Backlighting

Use when light is coming from behind subject, throwing
features or details into shadow. The flash fires automatically to
“fill in” (illuminate) shadows.
The camera focuses on subject at the center of the frame.

The area focused can be changed by the touch shutter
(

A 47) or touch AF/AE (A 52).

The flash mode setting is fixed at X Fill flash.
Use the scene effect adjustment slider (

A 61) to adjust image brightness.

p Panorama assist

Use when taking a series of pictures that will later be joined to form a single panorama using
the supplied Panorama Maker 5 software. See “Shooting for a Panorama” (

A 74) for details.

The default setting for flash mode is
