Before enjoying DVD/Video CD/CD
The On-Screen Menu language of your player has been factory preset to English.
If you would like to change the menu language to French or Spanish, please refer to
“When ‘3 Menu Language’ is selected” on page 58.

■ When a menu screen appears on the TV monitor
In the case of most of the interactive DVDs or Video CDs with playback control, a
menu screen appears on the TV monitor.
• For DVD, perform steps 2 and 3 to select the preferred item and start playback.
• For Video CD, press the numeric buttons of the remote control unit to select the
item and start playback.'

• In the case of the main unit, select the
item using the joystick.

Press SELECT.
(Play of the selected item now starts.)
Notes:
•During playback of some discs, a mes­
sage such as “Press the play button to
start play” may appear. In such a case,
press SELECT instead of PLAY/DIS­
PLAY. since if PLAY/DISPLAY of the
main unit is pressed during play, the On-
Screen Menu Icons will appear.
•If the disc is placed in upside down (and it
is a single sided disc), the display window
will indicate “NO DISC".
a After operation
When the player is not in use, to save
power, set the player to the standby mode
by pressing the POWER button (in the case
of the main unit, slide the POWER switch to
the OFF position). The player will automati­
cally be switched to the standby mode after
approx. 15 minutes have elapsed in the
stop mode (Auto power-off function).
