Adjusting the Tempo (speed)
of the Rhythm Pattern B
The tempo of the selected rhythm pattern can be adjusted in 16 steps.

A tempo of 120 beats per minute is automatically selected when the POWER/MODE switch
is initially turned ON.

Press the TEMPO □ button to increase the tempo or the TEMPO □ button to
decrease the tempo. The tempo is increased or decreased by one step each time the cor-

respoding button is pressed. Press both the □ □ buttons together to restore the
TEMPO
normal “120” tempo setting,
Piaying the Drum Pads ( pss - i 90 only) B
Tap any of the DRUM PAD buttons to play the corresponding drum.
If you play a drum pad while a rhythm pattern is playing, the corresponding drum within
the rhythm pattern will be muted until the beginning of the next measure.
Automatic Accompaniment s
AUTO ACCOMPAIMENT makes it simple to produce beautifully orchestrated accompani­
ment using major, seventh, minor and minor-seventh chords by pressing a minimum
number of keys in the AUTO ACCOMPANIMENT SECTION of the keyboard (to the left
of the ^ marker). The bass and chord accompaniment produced is perfectly matched to
the selected rhythm pattern.

1. Slide the switch to the AUTO ACCOMP. position.

2, Select the desired rhythm in the normal way. The closed hi-hat voice will sound to con­
firm that the rhythm select key has been properly pressed. Although you can also select
the melody (upper keyboard) voice you intend to use in the normal way, the PSS-50/190
automatically determines the voices to be used for the accompaniment bass and chords.
3. Press a Key in the AUTO ACCOMPANIMENT SECTION of the keyboard to start the
accompaniment. If you press a “C” key, for example, a C-major accompaniment will
be played. Press another key in the AUTO ACCOMPANIMENT SECTION to select
a new chord. The key you press will always determine the “root” of the chord played
(i.e. “C” for a C chord).

TEMPO [ I (schneller) und TEMPO | j (langsamer) können Sie die Geschwin-
digkeit dann einstellen. Gleichzeitiges Betätigen beider Tasten □ □ stellt auf
TEMPO
das Normaltempo (120) zurück.
Spielen der DRUM PADS

Tippen Sie eine der DRUM PAD-Tasten an, um die entsprechende Trommel o. ä. zu
spielen.

Wenn Sie eine DRUM PAD-Taste während Schlagzeugbegleitung drücken, setzt das
Schlagzeug bis zum Beginn des nächsten Takts aus, und Sie können ein Break trommeln.
Automatische Begleitung ш
Die Begleitautomatik (AUTO ACCOMPANIMENT) liefert Ihnen elegant orchestrierte
Baß/Akkordbegleitungen mit Dur-, Sept, Moll- und Moll-Septakkorden, ohne daß Sie
die Akkorde voll greifen müssen. Sie müssen nur maximal drei Tasten im Bereich
AUTO ACCOMPANIMENT SECTION (links von der ^ Markierung) drücken und schon
bekommen Sie die perfekte Baß- und Akkordbegleitung im Takt zum gewählten
Rhythmus.

2. Wählen Sie einen Rhythmus wie gehabt. Der ,,Hi-hat''-Ton bestätigt die Wahl, Sie
können zwar den Klang für die Melodie, d. h. für den rechten Tastaturbereich wäh­
len, die Kläige für Baß- und Akkordbegleitung werden jedoch vom PSS-50/190 dem
gewählten Rhythmus entsprechend festgelegt,
3. Drücken Sie eine Taste im AUTO ACCOMPANIMENT-Bereich, um die Begleitung
auszulösen. Wenn Sie zum Beispiel die C-Taste anschlagen, bekommen Sie Baß für
C-Dur und C-Dur-Seg!eitakkorde, Zum Wechseln des Akkords müssen Sie nur eine
andere Taste im AUTO ACCOMPANIMENT-Bereich anschlagen. Die gedrückte
Taste bestimmt jeweils den Grundton des gespielten Akkords (z. B. C für C-Akkorde).
