Debris Screen
There is a debris screen over the cooling fan. Its pres-
ence is necessary to prevent the cooling fins from getting
clogged. Customers should not operate the trimmer with-
out the screen in place. See Figure 22.
To remove/replace the debris screen:
1. Press in on the rear of the screen until the rear tab
clears the engine shroud. See Figure 22.
2. Slip the starter rope out of the slot in the debris
screen. See Figure 23.
3. Unhook the front tab from the engine shroud. See
Figure 24.
4. Lift the screen off of the engine.
5. Install the screen by following the previous steps in
reverse order.
