Lift-Off Oven Door

The oven door is rem ovable to m ake the interior m ore
accessible, if desired.

Note:

The oven door is heavy. You may need help

removing and replacing the door.

To remove the door,

open it a few inches to
the special “stop” position
that will hold the door
open.

Grasp

firmly

on

each side and lift the door
straight up and off the
hinges.

Mote:

Be careful not to piace hands between the

spring hinge and the oven frame as the spring hinge
could snap back and pinch your fingers.

W ash with hot, soapy water, For stubborn spots, use a

solution of vinegar and water. Do not imm erse the
door in water.

To replace the door, make sure the hinges are in the

“out" position Position the slots in the bottom of the
door squarely over the hinges. Then lower the door
slowly and evenly over both hinges at the same tim e

Oven Shelves

You m ay clean the oven shelves with a m iid abrasive
cleanser,

following

manufacturer’s

directions.

After

Gleaning, rinse the shelves with clean water and dry
with a dry cloth-- To rem ove heavy burned-on soil, you
m ay use soapy metal pads, foliowing m anufacturer's
directions. After scrubbing, wash with soapy water,
rinse and dry.

Oven Bottom

The oven bottom has a porcelain enamei finish.

To

m ake cleaning easier, protect the oven bottom from
excessive spillovers,. This Is particularly important
when baking a fruit pie or other foods with high acid
content- Hot fruit fillings or foods that are acidic (such
as milk, tom atoes or sauerkraut, and sauces with
vinegar or lemon juice) may cause pitting and dam age
to the porcelain enamel surface.

If a spillover does occur on the oven bottom , allow the

oven to cooi first- You can then clean the oven bottom
with soap and water, a miid abrasive cleanser or
soap-filled abrasive pads. Rinse well to remove any
soap before self-cleaning.

Broiler Pan & Rack

After broiling, remove the broiler pan and rack and
carefully pour off the grease W ash and rinse the broil­
er pan and rack in hot, soapy water,

If food has burned on, sprinkle the rack with detergent

while hot and cover with wet paper towels or a dish­
cloth. That way, burned-on foods will soak loose while
the meal is being served.

Do not store a soiled broiler pan and rack in the oven,

Contro! Panel

Clean up any spills or spatters with a dam p cloth

Remove heavier soil with warm , soapy water

Clean touch pads with m iid liquid dish detergent and a
soft cloth Rub touch pads lightly. CAUTION; DO NOT

USE ABRASIVES OF ANY KIND ON THE CONTROL
PANEL, The lettering on the pads is sensitive to abra­

sives and pressure.

Knobs

The control knobs m ay be removed for easier clean­

ing, To remove knob, puli it straight off the stem . If
knob is difficuit to rem ove, place a towel or dishcloth
between the knob and control panel and puil gently.
W ash knobs in soap and water but do not soak.

Gleaning under the Range

The area under the range can be reached easily for

cleaning by rem oving the bottom drawer. To rem ove,
pull drawer out all the way, tilt up the front and rem ove
it. To replace, insert glides at back of drawer beyond
stop on range glides. Lift drawer if necessary to insert
easily. Let front of drawer down, then push in to close.

Oven Âir Vents

Never block the vents (air openings) of the
range.

They provide the air inlet and outlet that are

necessary for the range to operate properly with cor­
rect com bustion. Air openings are located at the rear
of the cooktop, at the top and bottom of the oven
door and under the storage drawer.
