Poor TV reception - Optimize the modulator E Switch on the tv set. if required, selectthe programme
■ numberforthe video recorder.
With 'Connecting without scart cable', UHF-channel CH35 or
583IV1HZ might already be being used by another TV station in
your reception area, in this case the picture quality on your TV
set will be adversely affected when receiving one or more TV
channels.

Ensure that no cassette has been loaded. On the video
recorder, simultaneously hold the | stop / eject B/ a
| and
the IPLAY^ I button for a few seconds until e.g.: 'CH35'
or '583' appears in the display. The video recorder
transmits a test picture on this UHF-channel (or this
frequency).

m Selectthe line 'MODULATOR' on the TV screen or 'M ON'

tion 'OFF' on the TV screen or 'MOFF' (modulator off) in
the display. Select 'ON' on the TV screen or 'M ON'
(modulator on) in the display to switch the modulator
back on.

Remote control of TV sets
Your remote control can operate with a number of remote
control commands for TV sets of different makes.
Using the TV button set, you can activate the following
functions:

When the video recorder finds a 'free' TV channel, the
1 TV»: 1 Switch off sound
channel or frequency will be indicated.

You can also enterthe channel or frequency directly with I.1Y+I Programme number plus
the digit buttons |o^.
[W3 Programme number minus
HI Tune in the TV set in this channel or frequency.
m Confirm the channel or frequency indicated with the
[W] button.
HI To end, press the I menui button.
Switching off the modulator
If you cannot eliminate picture or sound interference, you can
switch off the built-in modulator. You should only do this if you
have connected the video recordertotheTVsetwith a scart
cable. 'Connecting VCR without scart cable' is not possible
when the modulator is switched off.
With the function 'Easy Link/NexTView'the modulator
will be switched off automatically.

Hold down the I TV OI button and enter the appropriate
remote control command with the digit buttons [o|9].
You will find a list of all available remote control
commands on the last page of this manual.
If the selected code does not operate with your TV set, or
if the TV make is not contained in the list, you can try out
the codes one after the other.
