GIANT ADJUSTABLE ENGINE MOUNT (GPMG1101)

The Great Planes Adjustable Mount is simple and convenient to use. It may be used to mount most 1.08-

1.80 [18-30cc] 2-stroke and 1.20-1.60 [20-26cc] 4-stroke engines. The symmetrical bolt pattern allows the
mount to be rotated without requiring new firewall holes to be drilled.

Instructions:

Cut or break the “spreader bar” off at each half.

Carefully trim any extra material left by the spreader
bar from each mount half. The surfaces where the
spreader bars were attached must be smooth to
allow the mount halves to fit together.

Determine where the mount should be installed

on the firewall. It will usually be positioned either on
the firewall centerline or slightly to the left of the
firewall centerline to allow for right thrust. Cut out
and position the mounting hole template on the
firewall, then tape it in place. Poke a T-pin through
the template to accurately mark the bolt locations on
the firewall. Drill a 7/32" [5.5mm] diameter hole at
each of the four pin holes, then install the mount
using 10-32 bolts, #10 lock washers, #10 flat
washers and 10-32 blind nuts. The length of the bolts
will be determined by the thickness of the firewall.
Do not tighten the bolts all the way yet.

Slide the mount halves apart until the engine

mounting lugs will sit flat on the beams. Adjust the
mount until the firewall centerline (or offset line) is
centered between the “tick” marks on the mount.
Tighten the bolts to hold the mount firmly in position
against the firewall. Determine how far forward the
engine should be positioned on the beams and mark
the location of the mounting holes. Remove the
engine and drill a 5/32" [or #25 or 4mm] diameter
hole through the beams at each mark. Tap the holes
you have just drilled with an 10-32 tap. Work
carefully, backing the tap out after every few turns to
clean out the hole. Install the engine with 10-32 x 1"
[25.5 mm] socket head cap screws, #10 lock
washers and #10 flat washers. You may trim the
mounting beams flush with the front edge of the
engine mounting lugs if space is limited.
