PREFERRED STATIONS - PRESET

For each wave band you can store the frequencies
of 5 transmitters.

Storing transmitter frequencies
1. Select the wave band using the BAND selector©.

2. Using the TUNING V A buttons ©. tune either

automatically or manually to the frequency to be
stored. Programme guides often contain a list of

transmitter frequencies.

3. If you want to store the frequency shown, press

MEMORY©.

4. Now, press the desired PRESET button © 'PI

P5’. The chosen PRESET-location is shown on the
display. The frequency is now stored.

A stored frequency is only erased from the

memory by storing another frequency in its place.

• The contents of the memory will be kept (also if the

power supply is interrupted) until the RADIO PRESET
MEMORY batteries (fig. 2) are exhausted.

Tuning to a preselected transmitter

• Set the FUNCTION selector ® to RADIO.
• Select the wave band using the BAND selector®.
• In case of FM-reception, set the FM MONO/STE-

REO selector ® to the desired position.

• Press the desired PRESETbutton©’P1’...’P5'.The

chosen PRESET-location is shown on the display.
• Always switch off the set after use with POWER

switch ®.

CASSETTE RECORDER

Compact cassettes

For recording, use only NORMAL cassettes (lEC I).
For playback, any cassette type can be inserted.

Fast winding
Press button ►► or Press ■ STOP to stop fast

winding and also when the tape has reached its end.

Safeguarding a cassette against erasure
Keep the cassette side to be safeguarded in front of

you (fig. 6) and break out the left tab. Now, recording

on this side is no longer possible.

You can render this safeguard ineffective by covering

the aperture with a piece of adhesive tape.

Tape counter @ - deck A

Set the tape counter ® to zero by pressing the zero

reset button immediately after inserting a cassette.
Note the counter reading at which each recording
commences. You can locate any recording rapidly
by fast winding to the same reading.

CASSETTE PLAYBACK

Playback on deck A or B
• Switch on the set with POWER switch ©.
• Set FUNCTION selector @ to TAPE.
• Press EJECT ■ and insert a recorded cassette

(fig. 5).

• Adjust the sound with the controls VOLUME®®

BALANCE ® and GRAPHIC EOUAUZER ®

• For playback on deck B, set REVERSE to:

jtC^ (released) for non-stop playback (continu­

ous reverse): deck B reverses the play direction

whenever reaching the end of the cassette;

(pressed) to play both cassette sides once

(single reverse). So, deck B stops at the end of

play direction i.

The indicators ® show the actual deck B play

direction. You can reverse the play direction at any

moment by pressing DIRECTION i ►.

• Press PLAY ► and playback will start.

On deck B, you can reverse the play direction at any
moment by pressing DIRECTION A ►.

• To stop playback, press STOP ■.
When the end of the tape is reached, the recorder

buttons are released (except for non-stop play on
deck B).
• Always switch off the set after use with POWER
switch ©.

Continuous play (estafette)

Deck B plays both cassette sides and at the end of

the cassette deck A will start playing.

• Switch on the set with POWER switch ©.
• Set FUNCTION selector ® to TAPE.

• Press both EJECT buttons ■ and insert a record­

ed cassette into both decks (fig. 5).

• Set the deck B REVERSE “> button to

(pressed) to play both cassette sides once.
• Press on deck BPLAY^ and on deck A PAUSE II

and PLAY ►: deck B will now play and deck A stands
still.

As soon as deck B stops (at the end of play direction

◄ orwhen the STOP button ■ is pressed), PAUSE II

is released and deck A will start playing back.

• To stop playback, press STOP ■.

• Always switch off the set after use with POWER
switch ©.
