Shut down Windows and turn the computer OFF.

Verify that the power switch of the scanner is OFF.
If the power switch is in the ON position, push the switch to set it to OFF.

Plug the supplied power cord into the power connector on the rear of the unit. a

Connect the power cord into an AC outlet. b

Use the SCSI cable to connect the scanner to the computer.
