7. remove bolt and recoil spring assembly from the receiver;
8. Pull lower hand guard rearward and down to remove;
9. Pull upper hand guard upward and back to remove, exposing the storage tube (located
above barrel and behind the gas block).
This level of disassembly is all that is required, or recommended, to adequately clean
and lubricate the rifle. further disassembly should only be attempted by factory trained
technicians.
7.1. Reassembly
The rifle should always be reassembled in the reverse order of disassembly:
1. install the upper hand guard:
a. insert the front into the gas block.
b. Push the rear downward until seated.
2. install the lower hand guard:
a. Press the hand guard upward against the upper hand guard, ensuring the locking
tabs are aligned with each other.
b. Press the lower hand guard forward until the front is secured by the gas block and the
pivot pin notch is aligned.
3. insert the bolt and recoil spring assembly into the rear of the receiver.
4. Slide the bolt forward until the charging handle notch is aligned with the receiver charging
handle window.
5. insert the charging handle through the window and into the bolt.
6. Slide the bolt and recoil spring assembly forward until the bolt is fully closed and the recoil
spring assembly is flush with the rear of the receiver.
7. connect the receiver and trigger casing assemblies and secure together by pressing in the
front and rear takedown pins fully.
8. Perform a function check in accordance with Section 7.2.
