Immediately and the blade wili stop rotating within

three seconds.

run. Stop the biade when crossing gravei drives,

walkways or roads.

stop the engine and check Immediately tor the

18. Shut the engine off and wait untii the blade comes

to a compiete stop before removing the grass
catcher or unclogging the chute. The cutting blade
continues to rotate for a few seconds after the
engine Is shut off. Never piace any part otthe body

In the biade area untii you are sure the biade has

stopped rotating.

19. Never operate mower without proper trail shield,

discharge cover, grass catcher, blade controi

handie or other safety protective devices in piace

and working. Never operate mower with damaged

safety devices. Faiiure to do so can resuit in

personal injury.

20. Muffier and engine become hot and can cause a

burn. Do not touch.

21. Only use parts and accessories made by the

originai equipment manufacturer (O.E.M). Failure
to do so can result in personai Injury.

Slope Operation

Siopes are a major factor related to slip and fall
accidents which can resuit in severe injury. Operation
on siopes requires extra caution. It you feel uneasy on a
siope, do not mow it. Before operating this unit on a
siope or hiliy area, use the slope gauge on page 6 to
measure siopes . It the siope Is greater than 15
degrees, do not mow it.

Do:

1. iVow across the face of slopes; never up and down.

Exercise extreme caution when changing direction

on siopes.

2. Watch tor holes, ruts, rocks, hidden objects, or

bumps which can cause you to slip or trip. Tail

grass can hide obstacies.

3. Aiways be sure of your tooting. A slip and faii can

cause serious personai injury. It you feel you are

losing your baiance, release the biade control
handie immediateiy, and the blade wiii stop rotating

within 3 seconds.

Do Not

1. Do not mow near drop-otfs, ditches or embankments:

you may lose your footing or baiance.

2.

Do not mow siopes greater than 15 degrees as

shown on the slope gauge.

3. Do not mow on wet grass. Unstabie footing couid

cause siipping.

Children

Tragic accidents can occur it the operator is not aiert to
the presence of chiidren. Children are often attracted to
the mower and the mowing activity. They do not

understand the dangers. Never assume that chiidren

wiii remain where you iast saw them.

1. Keep children out of the mowing area and under

the watchtui care of a responsible aduit other than
the operator.

2.

Be aiert and turn mower off if a chiid enters the

area.

3. Before and while moving backwards, iook behind

and down tor small children.

4.

Use extreme care near blind corners, doorways,

shrubs, trees, or other objects that may obscure
your vision of a chiid who may run into the mower.

5. Keep children away from hot or running engines.

They can suffer burns from a hot muffier.

6. Never ailow chiidren under 14 years old to operate

a power mower. Children 14 years oid and over
should read and understand the operation

Service

Safe Handling of Gasoline;

1. To avoid personai Injury or property damage use

extreme care in handling gasoline. Gasoiine is
extremely flammabie and the vapors are explosive.
Serious personai injury can occur when gasoiine is
spiiied on yourself or your clothes which can Ignite.

2. Wash your skin and change clothes immediately.

3. Use only an approved gasoline container.

Never fiii containers Inside a vehicle or on a truck or

traiier bed with a plastic liner. Aiways piace
containers on the ground away from your vehicie

before fitting.

5. if possibie, remove gas-powered equipment from

the truck or traiier and refuel it on the ground, if this

Is not possible, then refuei such equipment on a

traiier with a portabie container, rather than from a
gasoline dispenser nozzie.

6. Keep the nozzle in contact with the rim of the fuel

tank or container opening at ail times until tueting is
complete. Do not use a nozzle lock-open device.

7. Extinguish aii cigarettes, cigars, pipes and other

sources of ignition.

8. Neverfuel machine indoors because fiammable

vapors will accumulate in the area.

9. Never remove gas cap or add fuel whlie the engine
