10. Remove the black threaded ring that is
screwed onto the end of the LPE shift knob.
NOTE: If you are installing the LPE shift
knob boot adapter kit (as shown in this
instruction manual), the black threaded ring
will not be used during installation.
8. Flip the shift boot inside out to expose the
bottom of the new shift boot collar. Place
the opening on the shift boot into the groove
cut into the collar. Use the included zip-tie
to secure the shift boot to the shift collar.
You will want to get the zip-tie as tight as
possible. Once the zip-tie is sufficiently
tightened, snip off the excess length of zip-
tie, taking care not to leave a sharp edge
on the zip-tie that could damage the boot.
Once this is complete, turn the shift boot
back to it’s normal orientation.
9. Select the rubber shift knob adapter with the
largest inside diameter and install it onto the
end of the shift lever.
11. Place the LPE shift knob boot adapter onto
the gear lever with the tapered end pointing
up. Then push the shift knob onto the shift
lever. The shift knob should bottom out
on the shift lever when the shift knob is
adequately pressed on.
