WARNING: DISCONNECT BATTERY BEFORE BEGINNING INSTALLATION !!!

CAUTION: This flasher unit is designed for use on high

beam headlights rated at a maximum of 70 watts
each.

1. Mount the supplied headlight flasher unit in the desired location using the two screws

supplied or an alternative method.

2. The current wiring of your headlights, high and low beams, should resemble the wiring

diagram in Figure 1.

3. The electrical connection in the circled area indicated by the arrow in Figure 1 should be

broken. Disconnect the wire running from your high beam switch to your high beam
headlights and also disconnect any power wires connecting the two high beam head
lights to one another.

4. Connect the wire running from your high beam switch, which was originally connected to

the headlight wires, to the orange wire from the FM3666 flasher unit as shown in Figure
2.

5. Connect one red wire from the flasher unit to the wire from one of the high-beam

headlights and connect the other red wire to the other high beam headlight as shown in
Figure 2.

6. Connect the black fused wire from the flasher to a +12 VDC power source that is

capable of delivering at least 15 amps.

7. When properly connected, the switch should flash your high beams when flipped to the

‘ON’ position, regardless if your high beam switch is on or not.

8. When the switch on the flasher unit is in the ‘OFF’ position, your high beam switch should

function normally.

9. On vehicles with headlights that are both high and low beams, the wiring should be the

same except for the fact that the high beam wires will run to the same light as the low
beam wires, utilizing additional contacts on the back of the lamp.

headlight systems on any vehicle with a 12 VDC negative ground system
. If the
vehicle you are installing this unit on has Daytime Running Lights (DRL’s), you must
order Model #FM3669C. Please use Model #FM3669 if you would like a headlight flasher
which also adds a DRL function to your vehicle.

A properly installed FM3666 headlight flasher will flash the vehicles high beam lights (up
to 70 watts per side
) in an alternating pattern at 1.2 FPS. When used at night, the low
beam lights will remain ON for proper illumination of the road, while the high beams will
flash to gain attention and to increase the vehicle’s visibility.
