General Fronius Solar.service provides a whole range of useful information about your photovol-
taic system. This information will help the installer and the Technical Support team
during any troubleshooting activities.
Establishing a
connection to the
photovoltaic
system

Start Fronius Solar.service
Select/enter connection to the photovoltaic system (depending on type of Datalog-
ger):

Select COM interface
- Select USB port
- Click the „Establish connection“ button
When using a Datalogger Web or Datamanager

Optional: enter a name for the connection
- Enter the IP address or the host name of the Datamanager in the address
field
Click the „Add“ button
A connection to the photovoltaic system is established

Overview Once a connection to the photovoltaic system has been established, an overview of all
the system components (Datalogger, inverter, Fronius String Control, sensor cards) is
displayed.
Click on any component to open another window with detailed information about that
component.

Datalogger The detailed view of the Datalogger corresponds to the one shown on the website.
Further details can be found in the Datalogger operating instructions.
Detailed view of
inverter The detailed view of the inverter contains a number of submenus:
Actual values
This menu shows the actual inverter values for:
- Grid voltage: voltage of public grid

Power of feeding in: amount of energy being fed into the grid at present
- AC current: current being fed into the grid at present
- Grid frequency: frequency of public grid
- Impedance: impedance of AC grid
- Generator voltage: DC voltage of solar modules
- DC current: DC current of solar modules
- Insulation: insulation resistance (PV generator to ground)
- Multiple MPP display is supported
Versions
Shows the latest hardware and software versions of the
components installed in the
inverter.
It is possible to carry out a firmware update with the Fronius IG TL, Fronius Symo,
Fronius Galvo, Fronius Agilo, Fronius Primo inverters.
Settings In the „Settings“ menu you can change the language or request a licence (activation
code). Observe the explanatory notes on the request form.
The licence (activation code) can only be requested by Fronius Service Partners and
trained installers. Every request is checked by the Technical Support team, therefore a
reason for the request must be provided on the form.
