Each set of RCA jacks has an associated Gain Control on the
bottom of the module (see Figure 4), which can be used to adjust
the amplitude of each line-level audio signal entering the Triple-
Source Input. This is useful because the strength (amplitude) of line-
level output signals often varies among audio components. By
simply adjusting the gain of each signal you can achieve a balanced
level among audio sources, ensuring consistent minimum and
maximum volume in every room regardless of which audio source is
selected.

Some sources may be deemed to be "hot" and cause audio distortion in the system. In this case, reducing the line level with the gain
adjustment will solve the issue. If devices have a very low output they can be adjusted to be on par with the rest of the sources.

• Three 2.5mm IR jacks on the lyriQ™ Triple Source Input allow for remote control of source audio components from any room in the

house with a lyriQ™ Amplified Keypad or High Performance Keypad. The IR targets on these volume controls provide a direct path
back to the IR jacks on the Triple-Source Input, which in turn sends the IR signals to the source audio components via a Dual IR
Mouse Emitter (P/N F7425).

• There is also one IR Input Jack. By using an infrared target such as the Universal IR Target (P/N AC1016), all system components can

be controlled behind closed doors at the entertainment center. In most other multi-room audio systems, two sets of emitters must be
placed on the source equipment for control. One emitter is for the multi-room system and the other for control within that room for an
application like watching a movie. The lyriQ™ system acts as both an IR distribution system for multi-source control and as an IR
distribution for the home theater.

• The output from FOUR audio devices can be distributed throughout the house by also using a lyriQ™ Single Source Input (P/N

AU7398) along with the Triple-Source Input. Plan ahead for this by running a third Category 5 cable from the Enclosure to the room
containing the fourth source audio equipment (see Figure 5).

• Optionally, the lyriQ™ Local Source Input (P/N F7417 or AU5008-xx for Studio Local Source Input) can be wired in any room, allowing

users to plug in devices like portable audio players, master bedroom TVs, or computer audio outputs for in-room listening on local
speakers. It automatically overrides the remote source music in the room when the local source is on and returns to the source when
local source is off.
