Setting the Sleep Timer

Use this function to automatically switch the power to the
standby mode after a specific amount of time (minutes).

The “SLEEP” indicator flashes.

After about 4 seconds, the “SLEEP” indicator stops flashing,

remaining lit, and the settings are automatically entered.

The power is set to the standby mode after the set
amountoftime.

Canceling the sleep timer

Press [SLEEP] until the “SLEEP” indicator turns off.

The sleep timer can also be canceled by setting the S-102’s power

to the standby mode using ON/STANDBY.

Checking the time remaining until the sleep timer
starts

In the stop mode, press [STATUS].
The time is displayed.

The time can be displayed by pressing [STATUS] when the power is

in the standby mode. (When this is done, the set is no longer in the
low power consumption standby mode.)

When pressed twice while the time is displayed, the display turns

off and the set is put back in the low power consumption standby
mode.

If the sleep timer and everyday timer settings overlap, the sleep

timer has priority.

Adjusting the Tone

If no operation is performed within 4 seconds, the display switches
back to what was previously displayed.

Turning the Sound Off Temporarily

(Muting)

Press

[MUTE]

To cancel, either press [MUTE] again or adjust the volume using
VOLUME.

Personal Memory Plus Function

This function sets the settings (input mode, surround
mode, etc.) last selected for the individual input sources.
When you switch to an input source, the settings are
automatically set to the ones that were set the last time
that input source was used.

The surround parameters, tone adjustment and the volumes of the
different speakers are stored for the individual surround modes.

Convenient Functions

Last Function Memory

This stores the settings as they were directly before the
standby mode was set.
When the power is turned back on, the settings are
restored to as they were directly before the standby mode
was set.

Backup Memory

The various settings are backed up for about 1 week,
even if the power is turned off or the power cord is
disconnected.

Auto Power On

When the power is in the standby mode, the power turns
on simply by pressing <5> or <1>.

Resetting the Microprocessor

Perform this procedure if the display is abnormal or if
operations cannot be performed.
When the microprocessor is reset, all the settings are
reset to their default values.

Release the three buttons when “INITIALIZE” is
displayed.

If in step 3 the display does not flash at intervals of about 1 second,
start over from step 1.

:

Adjusts the bass sound (–10 dB to +10 dB).

TREBLE

:

Adjusts the treble sound (–10 dB to +10 dB).

DEFEAT

:

The tone adjustment circuitry can be bypassed to achieve high sound
