Chapter 4 Removing and replacing FRUs
Type I control panel UI board removal
First remove the jog knob and identify your board type, as in “Control panel UI board
identification” on page 61 . To remove the Type I control panel UI board, continue by
removing the bearing assembly and the top, then work on the top unit separately, as
in the following illustrations.

Disconnect cables 1
Use small flat screwdriver to disconnect and
re-connect. To disconnect, pry up gently at
corners. To re-connect, seat firmly in center
and in corners. Make sure
the connector is not
bowed up in the
middle. 2
Gently pry up black lever
with two fingernails
to release cable. 4
Slide flange out
to release cable. 3
