- Stop all access before restoring or dropping the database.
- Take FSMs and DSMs out of service before restoring or dropping the
database. For an FSM-mounted News database, this is especially true of
the Grass Valley FSM Failover Monitor service; be sure that it is stopped.
- Close all SQL applications before restoring or dropping the database.
- Restore the database to the primary FSM or DSM.
