Set up your mower

Important: unfold handle carefully so as not to pinch or damage control
cables.

§ Insert the right / left lower handle section into the holes on the deck.
§ Remove protective padding, put upper handle section into place on lower handle and

tighten both handle knobs.

§ Tighten the tapping screws to fix the lower handle on the 2 sides of the deck
§ Remove handle padding holding operator presence control bar to upper handle.

OPERATION

Brake lever must be held down to the handle to start the engine. Release to stop the engine.
Starter handle-used for starting engine.
Drive control lever is used to engage power-propelled forward motion of lawnmower.

8.1

Use your lawnmower engine speed

The engine speed was set at the factory for optimum performance. Speed is not adjustable.

8.2

Drive Control

§ Self-propelling is controlled by

holding the operator presence
control bar down to the handle and
pushing the drive control lever
forward until it clicks, then releasing
the lever.

§ Forward motion will stop when the

operator presence control bar is
released. To stop forward motion
without stopping engine, release the
operator presence control bar
slightly until the drive control
disengages. Hold operator
presence control bar down against
handle to continue mowing without
self-propelling.

8.3

Adjust cutting height

Raise wheels for low cut and lower wheels for deep cut, adjust cutting height to suit your
requirements. Medium position is best for most lawns.

8.4

Before starting engine, add oil

Before each subsequent use the oil level must be checked and if necessary topped up with
500 ml SAE30 (4-stroke-oil) engine oil.

8.4.1 Oil fille cap/dipstick (Fig3)

Your lawnmower is shipped without oil in the engine. For type and grade of oil to use, see
“7.4”.

Caution: Do not overfill engine with oil, or it will smoke heavily from muffler
on startup.

§ Be sure lawnmower is level.
