Configuring the
Router
How do you want to use the Router?
The router is configured with several default configuration settings and
these settings will be appropriate for most installations (see page 25 for
default configuration settings). However, to assess whether these settings
will work for you, you need to decide how you are planning to use the
router. The flowchart below allows you to choose a simple configuration
procedure to use to configure your router. More complex configurations
can be configured using the Advanced Setup feature of the HTML
interface.
NOTE: Your service provider should have notified you which
encapsulation method to use, PPP or RFC 1483. Refer to
“Encapsulation Methods: PPP and RFC 1483” on page 30 for
descriptions of PPP and RFC 1483.
