Inserting / Changing Batteries
Candles
1. Unscrew the candles from the clips by turning them anticlockwise.
2. Remove the old batteries if necessary and insert a new 1.5 V
battery, AAA type with the positive pole first into each of the
candles (see also the embossing on the candles).
3. Screw the candles back onto the clips by turning them clockwise.
Remote Control
1. Open the battery compartment lid on the back of the remote
control. To do this, press the closure towards the lid and flip up
the lid at the same time.
2. Remove the old batteries if necessary and insert two new 1.5 V
batteries, AAA type into the remote control. Pay attention to the
correct polarity (+ / –).
3. Place the lid back onto the battery compartment and press the lid
down until it locks in place.
Operation
• Use the ON button to switch on the candles.
In doing so you have two options:
– When pressing the ON button briefly, the candles light up
constantly.
– When keeping the ON button pressed for approx. 3 seconds,
the candles flicker.
You can switch back and forth between lighting up constantly and
flickering at any time.
• Use the OFF button to switch the candles off again.
• If some candles do not switch on, over or off directly,
check the alignment of the candles and the remote
control: For problem-free operation it is important that
there is an optical connection between all candles and the
remote control.
If necessary, rearrange the candles in the tree and / or
choose another location from which you operate the
candles. Please be aware of the range of the remote
control. This is around 5 m.
Then press the ON or OFF button again. Please note
the different length with which you have to press the
ON button, depending on the desired lighting mode (see
above).
• If some chandles still do not switch on, check the fit of the
candles and the clips: The candles must not be screwed
too tight onto the clips. Turn the candles anticlockwise a
quarter turn and try again to switch on the candles.
• If you subsequently buy more candles or sets of candles,
all candles can be switched on and off using just one
remote control.

You have purchased an article with high-performance light-emitting
diodes. The average lighting time of the candles varies when the
supplied batteries are used, depending on the light function which is
set (lit up constantly or flickering), between approx. 150 and max.
170 hours.
Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Cause / Solution
(Some) candles
do not respond
to the remote
control.
• Are batteries inserted into the candles and
the remote control?
• Are the batteries too weak or incorrectly
inserted?
• Are the candles within the range of the
remote control? / Is there an optical
connection between the candles and the
remote control?
For problem-free operation it is important
that there is an optical connection between
all candles and the remote control.
If necessary, rearrange the candles in the tree
and / or choose another location from which
you operate the candles. Please be aware
of the range of the remote control. This is
around 5 m.
Then press the ON or OFF button again,
depending on whether you want to switch
the candles on, over or off. Please note the
different length with which you have to press
the ON button, depending on the desired
lighting mode (see the "Operation" chapter).
• Are the candles and the clips screwed too
tight together?
The candles must not be screwed too tight
onto the clips. Turn the candles anticlockwise
a quarter turn and try again to switch on the
candles.
Disposal
The packaging can be recycled. Please dispose of it in an
environmentally friendly manner and take it to a recycling
centre.
Dispose of the article in an environmentally friendly
manner. The article should not be disposed of in the
normal domestic waste. Please dispose of it at a recycling
centre for old electrical and electronic devices. You can
obtain more information from your local authorities.
The batteries should be removed prior to disposal of
the article and disposed of separately from the article.
To protect the environment, non-rechargeable and
rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with the
normal household waste, but must be taken to suitable
collection points. Also note the relevant statutory
regulations governing the disposal of batteries.
