Understanding Failover Operations

Planned Failover in Windows Server 2008 R2
Follow these steps to perform a planned failover on a Syncro CS 9286-8e system running Windows Server 2008 R2.
1.
Create a backup of the data on the Syncro CS 9286-8e system.
2.
Open the Failover Cluster Manager, as shown in the following figure.

In the left panel, expand the tree to display the disks, as shown in the following figure.

Right-click on the entry in the Assigned To column in the center panel of the window.
5.
On the pop-up menu, select Move > Select Node, as shown in the following figure.
6.
Select the node for the planned failover.
