Your picture is blurry or out of focus.
Make sure your subject is within the camera's
range. You should be at least 20 cm away to take
a picture without the flash, and 80 to 280 cm
(without zoom), or 160 cm (with zoom) away to
take a picture with the flash (when Sensitivity is
set to Std.). You can take a picture as close as 20
cm with or without the flash in Macro mode.
Make sure the subject is not moving.
If you turned on the camera with the lens cap
attached, the camera’s auto focus feature may not
work correctly. Turn off the camera, make sure
the lens cap is not attached, then turn on the
camera and try taking the photo again.
Be careful to hold the camera steady while the
image is being captured.
Make sure your flash is not set to .
Your picture is too dark (underexposed).
You may need to use the flash. Set the flash to
or , following the instructions in “Setting the
flash” on page 2-4.
If you are using the flash, make sure your subject
is within 80 to 280 cm of the camera (when
Sensitivity is set to Std.).
You can adjust the exposure manually to make
your photos brighter. For instructions, see
“Adjusting the exposure” on page 2-15.
Use an image-editing program to adjust the
picture's brightness and contrast.
If you are using the Macro mode to take close-up
photos, be sure to provide adequate lighting for
your subject, since the camera’s aperture is
automatically set to the smallest setting in this
mode.
