This manual describes the operation of the HP Scanjet 5530 scanner, including
installation problems, customer support, and how to use the scanner.

Press S CAN P ICTURE if you are scanning a printed picture, graphic, slide,
or negative. Press S CAN D OCUMENT if you are scanning text, both text and
graphics, or any text that you want to edit later.

Scans pictures on the scanner glass,
from the automatic photo feeder
(APF), or a slide or negative from the
transparent materials adapter
(TMA).

Scans a document from the glass to
a selected destination (an
application, such as a word
processor).
