If one or more print cartridges are not printing, you could have one of the
following problems:

The print cartridge(s) might have a faulty circuit connection with
the copier.

The print nozzles might still be covered with tape.

The print cartridge(s) might be clogged.

The print cartridge(s) might be out of ink.

Faulty circuitry can sometimes cause streaks or faded colors to appear
in your print job. Try reseating each cartridge to ensure good electrical
connection between the print cartridges and copier, and then print the
self test page. (See Chapter 1, “Getting Started,” for instructions.)

Air bubbles or paper dust can occasionally clog one or more nozzles on
a print cartridge. To clear the nozzles and restore print quality, first print
the self test page.

Clearing the print-cartridge nozzles

If a print cartridge is clogged (and printing the self test page does not
clear it), try to clear it manually. (Manual clearing can often clear nozzles
more effectively than a self test.) If the print cartridge is still clogged after
completing this procedure, replace the clogged print cartridge. Follow
these steps:

Print a self test page. (Refer to “Getting Started,” in Chapter 1 for complete
instructions on printing the self test page.)
