A. Remove Fixed Glass Assembly
See Section 14G.
B. Remove the Shipping Materials
Remove shipping materials from inside or underneath the
fi rebox.
C. Clean the Appliance
Clean/vacuum any sawdust that may have accumulated
inside the fi rebox or underneath in the control cavity.
D. Accessories
Install approved accessories per instructions included
with accessories. Contact your dealer for a list of ap-
proved accessories.

Appliance Setup
E. Lava Rock/Teco-Sil and Glowing Ember
Placement
Prepare Electric Ember Bed and Lava Rock. The elec-
tric ember bed must be prepared before the logs are set
up. See Figure 14.1.
Start by applying the glass ember rock (Teco-Sil) to the
base pan as shown in Figure 14.2.

Place a thin layer and follow the pattern on the base pan
as shown in Figure 14.3.

Apply lava rock. The lava rock should cover the remain-
ing base pan area. See Figure 14.4. Do not put lava rock
on top of the glass ember rock (Teco-Sil) .

Turn on the electric ember lights and paint the glass em-
ber rock (Teco-Sil) to the desired darkness. See Figure
14.5. Prior to painting, take precautions to prevent any
overspray from reaching the pilot assembly.
