Warranty
This warranty remains in effect for five years from date of purchase for speaker components, one year on subwoofer amplifiers and electronics components.
Persons Protected. This warranty will only be enforceable by the original owner during the warranty period so long as proof of date of purchase from an
authorized dealer is presented whenever warranty service is required.
What is covered. Except as otherwise specified below this warranty covers all defects in materials and workmanship in this product. The following are not
covered: damage resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, product modification, improper installation, incorrect line voltage, unauthorized repair or
failure to follow instructions supplied with the product; damage occurring during shipment (claims must be presented to the carrier); any product purchased
outside USA or Canada, or on which the serial number has been defaced, modified or removed.
How You Can Get Service.
U.S. Purchasers. Please contact us at 1-800-225-9847 or write to: Advent (attention: Customer Service Department) 17C Airport Drive Hopedale, MA 01747
We will either inform you of the name and address of an authorized repair station which will service the product or will advise you to send the product to a
factory service center.
Canadian Purchasers. The product should be returned to the dealer from whom it was purchased and such dealer either will service or arrange for service
of the product. If shipment of the product is required, it should be packaged properly. The original dated bill of sales must always be included with the product
as proof of warranty coverage.
What We Will Pay For. We will pay for all labor and material expenses required to repair the product but you must pay any labor cost for the removal and/or
installation of the product. If the product is shipped for warranty service, you must prepay the initial shipping charges, but Audiovox Electronics Corporation
will pay the return shipping charges if the product is returned to an address inside the USA or Canada.
Limitation of Implied or Statuatory Warranties and Conditions.
Exclusions. Audiovox Electronics Corporation’s liability is limited o the repair or replacement, at our option, of any defective product and shall not include
special, indirect, incidental or consequential damages of any kind. THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ANY AND ALL OTHER
WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS
FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND ANY OBLIGATION, LIABILITY, RIGHT, CLAIM OR REMEDY IN CONTRACT OR TORT, WHETHER OR NOT
ARISING FROM THE COMPANY’S NEGLIGIENCE, ACTUAL OR IMPUTED. NO PERSON OR REPRESENTATIVE IS AUTHORIZED TO ASSUME FOR
THE COMPANY ANY OTHER LIABILITY IN CONNECTION WITH THE SALE OF THIS PRODUCT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY BE LIABLE
FOR SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
Cette garantie demeure en effet pendant cinq années de date d’achat pour des composants de haut-parleur, d’un an sur des amplificateurs de subwoofer et
de composants électroniques.
Personnes protégées. Cette garantie sera applicable uniquement par le propriétaire d’origine au cours de la période de garantie aussi longtemps que la
preuve de la date d’achat chez un concessionnaire agréé est présentée chaque fois qu’un service de garantie est exigé.

á l’extérieur ces États-Unis ou du Canada, ou sur lequel le numéro de série a été défiguré, modifié cu enlevé.

des mesures pour faire effectuer le service du produit. Si l’expédition de produit est exigée, ce dernier coit être emballé correctement. L’acte de vente daté
d’origine doit toujours être inclus avec le produit comme preuve que ce dernier est couvert par la garantie.
Ce que nous paierons. Nous paierons toutes les dépenses de main-d’oeuvre et de matériaux requises pour réparer le produit, mais vous devrez payer tous
frais de main-d’oeuvre encourus pour l’enlévement et/ou l’installation du produit. si le produit est expédié pour le service de garantie, vous devrez payer
d’avance les frais initiaux d’expédition, mais Audiovox Electronics corporation paiera les frais d’expédition de retour si le produit est retoumé á une adresse á
l’intérieur des États-Unis ou du Canada.

obra en este producto. Los siguientes no están cubiertos: daños que resultan de accidentes, uso napropiado, abuso, negligencia, modificacioón de producto,
instalación inapropiada, voltaje de linea incorrecta, reparación no autorizada por el no seguir las instrucciones que se proporcionan con el producto; daños
que ocurren durante el envio (las reclamaciones deben ser presentadas al transportador); cualquier producto comprado afuera de los Estados Unidos o

Connection to
Amplifier or Receiver
We recommend standard 16-gauge speaker wire (or
l a r g e r 1 4 o r 1 2 - g a u g e m u l t i - s t r a n d e d c a b l e ) f o r
connecting this speaker, to your receiver. When using
more than one s p e a k e r i t i s i m p o r t a n t t h a t e a c h
s p e a k e r b e c o n n e c t e d i n t h e s a m e w a y t o e a c h
channel of the amplifier. This ensures that the speakers
operate “in phase,” that is, that their cones move back
and forth together to yield the fullest bass response
and proper stereo imaging. (see illustration below).
After the speakers are connected, you can check for
proper phasing by means of a simple listening test.
Place the speakers face-to-face, just a few inches
apart. Set your receiver to mono, play some music, and
r e v e r s e t h e c o n n e c t i o n s t o o n e s p e a k e r . Which-
ever way yields fuller and louder sound is the correct
connection.
Speaker Placement
Y o u r g o a l , a n d o u r s , i s t o a c h i e v e f l a t f r e q u e n c y
response and optimum stereo imaging in spite of any
undesirable acoustical properties your room may have.
Placement is critical in matching your new speakers to the
room, and to your taste.
Your Heritage loudspeakers are designed for floor,
wall mount or shelf p l a c e m e n t . T h e i r h e i g h t a n d
driver spacing are designed to give you a good start
toward optimum imaging and frequency response. If you
have the time a n d i n c l i n a t i o n y o u c a n e x p e r i m e n t
with various placements, with the knowledge that room
acoustics can often produce large apparent differences
in the sound for small changes in placement. For
example, although the speaker may be located at any
height above the floor, locating the tweeter somewhere
near ear level often provides the most realistic musical
imaging.
Another rule of thumb is that the proportion of bass
increases as you move a speaker closer to intersecting
room surfaces (wall, ceiling and floors), and that the
m o s t b a s s ( o f t e n t i m e s t o o m u c h ) r e s u l t s f r o m
placement in a corner at the floor or ceiling. With
these rules in mind, you should be able to obtain the
balance you prefer with reasonable ease.
Power Handling
As with any product, the Advent Heritage have their
operating limits, and consistently exceeding those
limits will damage the speakers. Fortunately, there is an
audible w a r n i n g w h e n t h o s e l i m i t s a r e r e a c h e d :
distortion, such as “fuzzy” or “gritty” sound which is
usually the result of driving an amplifier beyond its
undistorted power capability.
Overdriving an amplifier or sound processor–including one
with a modest power rating–in turn overdrives the speaker
s o t h a t p e r m a n e n t d a m a g e r e s u l t s . S h o u l d y o u
encounter the warning of distortion at loud v o l u m e
levels, no harm will be done if you immediately
turn down the volume to a point where the distortion
d i s a p p e a r s . H o w e v e r , p r o l o n g e d operation at
distorted volume levels can damage t h e s p e a k e r
s y s t e m , a n d s u c h d a m a g e i s n o t c o v e r e d b y t h e
warranty.
Note: If you intend to play more than one pair of Advent
loudspeakers simultaneously, please contact your
a m p l i f i e r / r e c e i v e r m a n u f a c t u r e r t o v e r i f y l o w
impedance capability of your equipment.
