Description

CANON PIXMA MP620

The Canon MP620 wireless All-in-One photo printer, finished in silver gray and glossy black, looks accurate and stylish. With the weight of 19 lbs, and dimensions of 17.7inches wide, 14.5 inches deep, and 6.9 inches high it is not the smallest one, but feels rather compact.

Being a multifunction device, the MP620 is capable to print text documents and photos, scan papers, and function as an autonomous copier. But there is no fax capability in the MP 620. It offers a wide range of connections, supporting wireless Wi-Fi, wired Ethernet and USB, and Bluetooth, if an adapter is available, and PictBridge as well.

The MP620 supports different types of flash memory, including Microdrive, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO, MultiMediaCard, SD Memory card, SDHC Memory Card. There are three slots for memory cards of diverse sizes, including for CompactFlash, which can be valued by those who have elder dSLR cameras. All in all 17 formats are allowed. Thus, the MP620 can operate with any computer on the network and with a mobile phone as well.

The PIXMA MP620 with added network support is really a good device, but it lacks one important feature which its predecessor the MP610 possessed, and that is an automatic duplexer, which allows for printing on both sides of the page. Oddly enough that an automatic duplexer is not included in the set of features for a network printer, which is the MP620. Its absence creates additional inconveniences in the office work. How many times you should walk back and forth between your computer and the printer to print both sides?

The MP620 is actually easy and pleasant to use. When powered on, it starts working almost immediately. And the same when you turn it off: with the first press of the button it closes down.

There are two paper inputs: a back tray for photo paper feeding and a front tray for plain paper with the capacity of 150 sheets. Both trays fold in the printer body, when the work is finished. There is one more tray over the front one, which is used for the output prints. And the output tray opens without your intervention if you copy or print.

On top of the MP620, just on the cover of the scanner there is the LCD screen and a control panel. The 2.5-inch LCD, settled on a flip panel, is not very large, but gives you enough information with its 230,000 pixels. You can preview the scanned documents and see how they will be arranged on the page. The menu navigation is simple with the scrolling control wheel, having the OK button in the middle and four–direction arrows. You are able to send a scanned document to a computer on the network or to a memory card.

The PIXMA MP620 possesses the user friendly functions of All-In-One machine. It is simple to set up and use. It produces excellent print quality, both text documents and photos. The MP620 features an ink set of five colors. It’s great, that the printer has separate color ink cartridges, which allows you to change only the color in which the ink has run out. Printing is rather quick, as well as scanning. You will like the results.

For those who are interested in buying a small printer with Wi-Fi or Ethernet connections to be used at home and shared by the members of the family, the Canon PIXMA MP620 is a splendid choice at a reasonable price of $150, particularly, if there is no need for you to copy or scan multipage papers, and send faxes.
