G0524 Rip Saw

-23-

Figure 23. Rip cutting operation. The operator

is standing to the side of the workpiece to avoid

injury in the event of kickback.

10. Approximately 5 seconds after the arbor is

started, press the FEED MOTOR START
button. The conveyor track should start
and run smoothly. Note—An automatic time
delay prevents the conveyor track from start-
ing up until 5 seconds after the main motor
has started.

12. Push the workpiece into the saw to perform

the cutting operation (

Figure 23).

— If the saw is not cutting completely through

to the bottom face of the workpiece, the
blade needs to be lowered. Only lower
the blade just enough to cut complete-
ly through the workpiece. Lowering the
blade too far could cause the blade to
make contact with the conveyor track.

Placing

hands

or

fingers

under

the

workpiece could cause
them to be pulled into
the rip saw, causing
serious personal inju-
ry. Do not place hands
or fingers under the
workpiece.

Never stand directly behind the workpiece

while feeding it through the rip saw. Stand

to the left or right of the workpiece to avoid

serious personal injury in the event of kick-

back.

Never attempt to rip a board that does not

have one perfectly straight edge. Always

guide the straight edge of the board against

the rip fence. Failure to do this could result

in kickback and serious personal injury.
