Using the Optional Headset

CAUTION: Use only the 5-2425 headset with this unit. Using

other headsets may damage the unit. For information on

ordering the headset, refer to the Connecting an Optional

Headset section of this user’s guide.

When the phone rings, the corresponding line’s indicator flashes rapidly.
1. Press the line button. If the headset indicator is not blinking, you must first press

the HEADSET button.

2. When you are finished, press the HEADSET button again.

NOTE: Whether you are making or receiving a call, the caller will be

disconnected if you press another line without putting the call on

hold first.

Switching Between Using the Speakerphone, Handset, and

Headset

• To switch to the speakerphone, press SPEAKER. The speakerphone indicator turns on.
• To switch to the handset, pick up the handset. The speakerphone or headset turns off.
• To switch to the headset, press HEADSET. The headset indicator turns on.

Mute

Use the MUTE button to interrupt a phone conversation to talk privately with
someone else in the room. A conversation can be muted with speakerphone,
handset, or headset use.
1. Press MUTE to activate the mute feature. The mute indicator turns on.
2. Press MUTE again to deactivate.

NOTE: Switching from speakerphone or headset to handset

cancels mute.

Hold

Hold allows you to suspend the active line(s), replace the handset on the cradle
without hanging up, then resume your conversation on the same phone or a different
phone connected to the same line.
