Setting the remote channel
To ensure that several remote systems used in the same room do not interfere
with one another, four independent remote channels (CH 1, 2, 3 or 4) are avai-
lable.
In activated remote slave operating mode, press the “Select” button repeatedly
until CH (= remote channel) starts flashing on the display. Use the ( + ) and
( - ) buttons to make the required setting. You can choose between channels 1, 2,
3 and 4.
The setting takes effect immediately. After approx. 5 seconds the indicator stops
flashing and the setting is memorised automatically.
Controller and slave flash units belonging to the same remote system must all be
set to the same remote channel. The setting of the remote channel on the control-
ler (camera’s integrated flash unit) occurs automatically when data is transferred
if the slave flash unit is fitted to the camera and the camera’s shutter release is
actuated.
After remote slave operation has been activated, SL, the required remote opera-
ting mode, the reflector position and the remote channel (CH) are shown on the
display. If a manual partial light output has been set, EV flashes additionally.

No range indicator appears in remote slave operation!

The flash unit’s main reflector

ቫ is automatically moved into the 24 mm position

in remote slave operating mode in order to illuminate as broad an area as possi-
ble. The position of the main reflector can be changed manually as required (see
9.1).
Checking remote flash operation
• Remove the slave flash unit from the camera and fold open the camera’s inte-

grated flash unit.

• Place the slave flash unit in the position required for the subsequent shot. Use

the flash unit mounting foot W-F127 (special accessories; see 17) to support
the slave flash unit.

• Wait until the slave flash unit and the camera’s integrated flash unit are ready

for operation. If the slave flash unit is not flash-ready, its AF meter flash

starts flashing.

• Trigger a test flash on the camera, e.g. via the AEL button (dependent on

camera type; see camera operating instructions).

• The slave flash unit gives a delayed response in the form of a test flash. If the

slave flash unit does not trigger a test flash, correct the position of the slave
flash unit to enable it to receive the light sent by the controller flash unit or
reduce the distance between the controller and slave flash units.

• Once successful test flash operation has been checked, you can now start

taking the shots..

9.3 Auto OFF for the flash unit

The auto OFF for the flash unit can be set so that it occurs after 10 minutes, 1
minute or is deactivated.
Setting procedure

• When „10min“ is displayed, Auto OFF function will be activated after `

10 minutes.

• When „OFF“ is displayed, the Auto OFF is deactivated.

The setting takes effect immediately. After about five seconds the display stops
flashing and the setting is saved automatically. After activation of the auto OFF
the display shows .

9.4 Modelling light („ML“)

The modelling light is a high-frequency stroboscopic flash. It creates the impres-
sion of a semi-permanent light for a duration of about 3 seconds. The modelling
