How to Operate the MVP851, con’t

DVD-Video Angle Preference
Certain DVDs are encoded with more than one video pic-
ture viewing angle. This allows changing the viewing angle
on discs that have the multiple angle feature. Refer to fig-
ures 71 and 72.

1. Press the DISPLAY Push-button once to access the

first On Screen Icon.

2. Press the Right directional Push-button to highlight

the sixth Icon from the left (Camera) and up/down ar-
rows will appear on the icon.

3. Press the Up

or Down

directional Push-buttons to

select the desired viewing angle that is available from
choices on the disc.

4. Press the DISPLAY Push-button three times to exit the

On-Screen Icon.

Note: A optional method is to press the ANGLE Push-

button and directional Push-buttons.

DVD-Video Title Selection
Certain DVDs have movie trailers, menus, different disc
formats and other supplemental materials. To access these
other disc features perform the following steps. Refer to
figures 71 and 72.

1. Press the DISPLAY Push-button once to access the

first On Screen Icon.

2. The first Icon on the left (T) should be highlighted.
3. Press the Up

or Down

directional Push-buttons to

select the desired title number on the disc.

4. Press the SELECT Push-button and the selected item

will start to play.

5. To return to the main feature perform steps three and

four, select the previous number in the icon window.

6. Press the DISPLAY Push-button three times to exit the

On-Screen Icon.

DVD-Audio Disc Play Mode
This feature allows for programming the playback of spe-
cific Groups and/or Tracks of a DVD-Audio Disc. It also
allows for the playback of all Groups or random play of a
specific Groups.

Note: The MVP851 must be in STOP Mode with a DVD-Audio

Disc Loaded, to activate the Play Mode Feature. A
DVD-Audio Disc Group refers to how tracks have been
arranged together on the disc for easier playback. For
example, on a Disc Group 1 might contain all vocal
songs and Group 2 may have all the instrumental songs.

Playback of All Groups:

1. Press the PLAY MODE Push-button once to access

the Random Playback of All Groups. Refer to fig-
ure 73.

Note: The Front Panel Alphanumeric Display will

indicate a flashing “All Group”.

2. Press the PLAY Push-button to activate the Play

All Groups Mode.

3. To cancel the Random Playback of All Groups,

press the STOP Push-button twice followed by
pressing the PLAY MODE Push-button three
times.

Random Playback of a Specific Group:

1. Press the PLAY MODE Push-button three times to

access the Random Playback of a Specific Group.
Refer to figure 74.

Note: The Front Panel Alphanumeric Display will

indicate “All” and “two asterisks”.

2. Use the Left or Right directional Push-buttons

to select All or the desired Group, then press the
SELECT Push-button.

3. Press the PLAY Push-button to activate the Play-

back of the selected Group(s).
