Pause tells your phone to wait

until the call connects before it
automatically sends the next
digit(s) in a series.

Wait tells your phone to wait

until the call connects, and then
to prompt you for confirmation
before it sends the next digit(s).

'n' tells your phone to prompt you

for a number before dialing the
call. The number you enter is
inserted into the dialing sequence
in place of the

n

character
