Power Supply

The 600-Watt PFC non-redundant power supply is auto ranging for either 100-127 VAC or
200-240 VAC operation.

Checking the Power Cord

WARNING

Do not attempt to modify or use a supplied AC power cord if it is not the
exact type required.

The power supply cord is the main disconnect device to mains
(AC power). The socket outlet shall be installed near the equipment and
shall be readily accessible.

If a power cord is not compatible with the AC wall outlet in your region, get one that meets the
following criteria:

The cord must be rated for the available AC voltage and have a current rating that is at least

125% of the current rating of the server.

The connector that plugs into the wall outlet must be a grounding-type male plug designed for

use in your region. It must have certification marks showing certification by an agency
acceptable in your region.

The connector that plugs into the AC receptacle on the power supply must be an IEC 320, sheet

C13, type female connector.

In Europe, the cord must be less than 4.5 meters (14.76 feet) long, and it must be flexible

<HAR> (harmonized) or VDE certified cordage to comply with the chassis’ safety
certifications.

Chassis Security

To help prevent unauthorized entry or use of the server, the chassis includes one chassis intrusion
switch at the rear of the chassis. This intrusion switch can be monitored by server management
software.

The chassis also includes a front bezel door lock and a padlock loop that the user can install at the
rear of the chassis.

Monitoring

One chassis intrusion switch is preinstalled. When the access cover is removed, the switch
transmits a signal to the management controller on the server board. Server management software
can be programmed to respond to an intrusion in a number of ways. This feature is not supported
on all server boards. See your server board documentation for more information.
