This chapter explains all the functions of the XV-1000BK for playing back DVD discs.
You can enjoy DVD in various ways, some of which only DVD can offer.
Read “Basic Operations” on pages 19 and 20 before reading this chapter.

Displaying DVD menus

Most DVD discs have their own menus for selecting an item (title or chapter) to be
played. A menu may be displayed automatically after inserting a disc or manually
during playback or stop.

7 Basic operation

1. Press DVD MENU.

The menu appears. The format and appearance of menus are different between
discs. Also, a disc may contain more than one menu.

See “Selecting an item from a menu” on page 20 for details of operations in a
menu.

If

appears when pressing DVD MENU:

The disc does not contain any menu.

7 To access a title menu

If a disc contains more than one menu, you can access the most basic menu (in
most cases) via the on-screen menu.

1. Press ON SCREEN during playback.

2. Move

to “TITLE MENU” using

.

3. Press ENTER/SELECT.

A DVD title menu appears.

The disc does not contain title menu.
