B Connecting to a TV with an S-video jack
If your TV has an S-VIDEO input, you can get better picture
quality by connecting it with the S-VIDEO output of the player
using an S-video cable instead of connecting the video input of
the TV to the VIDEO jack of the player.
NOTES
• Do not connect multiple devices using multiple connectors.
• When the VIDEO SIGNAL SELECTOR is set to “Y/C,” do not
use the composite video out jack. (In the case, only luminance
signal is output from the composite video out jack, resulting a
colorless picture.)
• Set [VIDEO SIGNAL] in the [PICTURE] preference display to
[COMPOSITE&Y/C] (see page 28).
C Connecting to a TV with the SCART connector
You can enjoy using the player by simply connecting it to your
television set with a 21-pin SCART cable.
NOTE
Do not connect multiple devices using multiple connectors.
Setting the VIDEO SIGNAL SELECTOR
When you connect the player to a TV with the SCART connector,
set the VIDEO SIGNAL SELECTOR correctly according to your
TV.
• If your TV only accommodates the composite video signal, set
the selector to “RGB/COMP.”
• If your TV accommodates Y/C signals, set the selector to “Y/C”
so that you can enjoy better-quality pictures.
• If your TV accommodates the RGB signals, set the selector to
“RGB/COMP.”
• Set [VIDEO SIGNAL] in the [PICTURE] preference display to
[RGB] (see page 28).
