You press the key that corresponds with the symbol
that you wish to enter. For example, press

for an

exclamation point (!).

Number Mode

Number mode lets you use keypad number keys to
enter numbers into a text message, event, or email
address without going through repeated key presses as
with Alpha mode.

T9 Word Text Entry Mode

T9 Word

recognizes a commonly used word that is

represented by a sequence of number key presses and
inserts that word into your message. (For example,
entering ‘8378’ would insert ‘test’ into your message.)
Using T9 Word is much faster than the more traditional
text input method (Alpha mode) and requires only one
press of a key per letter of the word that you’re
entering. [For example, in Alpha mode, you would
have to enter ‘83377778’ for ‘test’ instead of entering
‘8378’ for ‘test’ as in T9 Word mode.]
