Setup SMS messages
The Message Receiving Center number is preset when you buy your machine. When you need to change SMS
settings including the message receiving center number and a subaddress number, you can change settings.
To change the message receiving center number:
1 Press Menu repeatedly until SHORT MESSAGE appears, and press Enter .
2 Select SET SMS by pressing < or > and press Enter .
3 Center Number appears.(SMS Center No.1)
Press Enter and enter the Message Receiving Center number.
4 Press Enter when the center number appears correctly in the display.
To change the subaddress number:
1 Press Menu repeatedly until SHORT MESSAGE appears, and press Enter .
2 Select SET SMS by pressing < or > and press Enter .
3 Select SMS Center No.1 < or > SMS Center No.2 by pressing < or > and press Enter .
4 Enter the SMS Center No.1 < or > SMS Center No.2 number of the machine.
Register flow:(UK only):
Your machine is capable of receiving SMS text messages from any SMS capable device.
Prior to receiving SMS messages you must subscribe to the Caller Display Service on the line that the facsimile
device is to be connected. Please contact your telecoms provider to have this service enabled.
Having subscribed to the Caller Display Service, your machine must be registered with your telecoms provider.
The Default SMS Center Number and Registration Number (based on British Telecom system) are preset on
your fax machine. To register the device, please follow the instructions below:
1 Press Menu button repeatedly until SHORT MESSAGE appears, press Enter .
2 Using < or > keys, scroll along to SET SMS , press Enter .
3 REGISTER is displayed in LCD, press Enter .
4
SEND REGISTER is displayed, press Enter .
The fax machine will send a registration SMS to the BT SMS Center and register the device.
Registration is now complete.
Note: To edit SMS Center and Registration details please follow the instructions below:
Editing Registration Number:
1 Press Menu button repeatedly until SHORT MESSAGE appears, press Enter .
2 Using < or > keys, scroll along to SET SMS , press Enter .
3 REGISTER is displayed in LCD, press Enter .
4 Using < or > keys, scroll to EDIT REGISTER , press Enter .
