Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the MediaOne Series Studio Reference Monitor System from
Samson Technologies. Whether you need a monitor system for your digital recording
studio, a video production suite, or if you just want better monitors for gaming and
listening to music on your computer, the MediaOne’s are the perfect solution. This
manual covers three models: the MediaOne 3a, with 2 x 15 watts of power, a 3-inch
woofer and 1–inch silk-dome tweeter; the MediaOne 4a, with 2 x 20 watts of power, a
4-inch woofer and 1–inch silk-dome tweeter; and the MediaOne 5a, with 2 x 20 watts
of power, a 5-inch woofer and 1–inch silk-dome tweeter. The monitor systems produce
a powerful, full-range sound thanks to the clean internal power amplifier, extended
range copolymer woofers and 1-inch (25mm) silk dome tweeters. Plus, the MediaOne
systems deliver deep bass and extended highs in an amazingly compact size. The
MediaOne systems feature one active monitor for the right-side and a passive monitor
for the left-side. The right-side unit houses the internal stereo power amplifier to drive
both monitors. Located on the front is a convenient control panel with Volume and
Headphone output, along with an Aux input for connecting a second signal source
like from your MP3 player. On its rear panel you'll find the RCA inputs, Terminals for
connecting the left-side passive monitor, the Power switch and AC-inlet. The precision
tuned enclosures incorporate rear venting for extended low frequency response and
are finished in an attractive black vinyl covering. The MediaOne Series are ideal near
field monitor systems for studios, video post production suites, fixed installations or
wherever great sound is desired.

With proper care and adequate air circulation, your MediaOne Series will operate
trouble free for many years. We recommend you record your serial number in the space

Should your unit ever require servicing, a Return Authorization number (RA) must be
obtained before shipping your unit to Samson. Without this number, the unit will not
be accepted. Please call Samson at 1-800-3SAMSON (1-800-372-6766) for a Return
Authorization number prior to shipping your unit. Please retain the original packing
materials and if possible, return the unit in the original carton and packing materials.
If you purchased your Samson product outside the United States, please contact your
local distributor for warranty information and service.
