a) Indexes recorded automatically cannot be erased.

b) If the video signal system does not match the one used in your area, the

disc cannot be played back even if the correct region code is selected.
Set the video signal system to either NTSC or PAL on the TV SYSTEM
sub menu of the ENHANCED MENU.

c) In Southeast Asia area, the PAL TV system and the NTSC TV system

are mixed. Check whether your TV system is NTSC or PAL before
using this unit.

d) For detailed information on the enhanced menu, see the

following“ENHANCED MENU - Enhanced Sub Menu”.

ENHANCED MENU - Enhanced Sub Menu

Proceed as follows to open the enhanced menu.

Select “MENU GRADE” on the SETUP MENU by
pressing the

V or v button.

Press the

b button.

FREEZE
MODE

To select the
type of frozen
picture
displayed when
playback is
paused. (This is
effective only
when the

button on the
front panel or
the FREEZE
button on the
SVRM-100A
remote control
unit (not
supplied) is
used)

[FRAME]: Displays a frame
frozen picture when you push
the button, then the first field
is frozen when you push the
button next, and then the
second field is frozen when
you push the button a third
time.

1ST FIELD: Whenever you
push the button, the frozen
picture displayed changes in
the sequence of the first field,
then the 2nd field, and then
the frame.

2ND FIELD: Whenever you
push the button, the frozen
picture displayed changes in
the sequence of the 2nd field,
then the frame, and then the
first field.

DISC END

To select the
operation when
the disc
becomes full
during
recording

GOTO TOP: Returns to the
beginning of the disc.

END STOP: Returns to the
beginning of the last tile, and
end recording automatically.
However, the disc is not
ejected and remains in the
tray.

[EJECT]: Stops recording and
the disc is automatically
ejected.

To select the
region code for
playback

[1]: Plays a disc recorded in
North America. (This region
code is not available for the
PAL video signal system.)

2: Plays a disc recorded in
Western Europe (PAL), the
Middle East (PAL), South

America, and Australia (PAL)

5: Africa (NTSC), Eastern
Europe, Russia, Central Asia,
including India (PAL)

PRE REC

To select
whether or not
the unit starts
recording with
data pre-stored
for five seconds

ON Starts recording using the
last five seconds of video data
saved previously.

[OFF]: Starts recording
promptly after you start.
